Sean P. Murphy
Mr. Murphy is Wakefield’s Counsel. He is currently a Partner with Duane Morris LLP in the Washington, D.C. office. From May 2006 through 2011, he served as a principal in Wakefield, which operated an approximate $225 million equity joint venture with NorthStar Realty Finance (NYSE: NRF). That business has acquired, managed and disposed (in part) of $750 million in seniors housing and healthcare-related real estate. From May 2004 to April 2006, Mr. Murphy provided asset management and transactional services on behalf of CNL Retirement, Inc. and as a Partner with Chain Bridge Capital. From 2001 until April 2004, Mr. Murphy served as Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of Medical Office Properties, Inc. Previously, Mr. Murphy was principally engaged in private law practice from 1989 through 2001, during which time he represented clients engaged in various corporate matters, including commercial real estate acquisitions, development and finance, venture capital transactions and private securities offerings. He also co-founded and has been a member of the Board of Directors of TraumaCure, Inc., a medical products company that has done business with the U.S. government and private businesses overseas and in the U.S. Mr. Murphy received his B.S.F.S., J.D. & Masters (Real Estate) degrees from Georgetown University.
